The National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) took a comprehensive review in a major initiative to bolster the working conditions, safety and overall welfare of sanitation workers, at high level meeting at New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) here.
The National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) was constituted on 12th August, 1994 as a statutory body by an Act of Parliament.
02The NCSK is responsible for improving the welfare and working conditions of sanitation workers in India.
03Manual scavenging has been prohibited under the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013.
04The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is responsible for overseeing the activities of the NCSK.
